Garlic, tomato, Parmesan and Thyme Bread

Ingredients


For the sandwich bread mould 24 cm

400 g white wheat flour

1 teaspoon salt

3 level tablspoons of brown sugar

120 ml warm water

120 ml milk

9 g dried baker

  • 1. Place the flour, salt and sugar in a large bowl and stir.

    2. In a separate bowl, mix the water, milk, salt and yeast and beat with a whisk. Add the melted butter and empty the entire mixture onto the flour. Mix with your hands or with a food processor for 8 minutes.

    3. Place the dough on a smooth, floured surface and sprinkle the dough with flour. Use your hands to shape it into a rectangle that is 20cm long. Spread the melted butter on top and sprinkle with the chopped garlic, thyme leaves, chopped tomato and Parmesan cheese. Roll it up and cut it in half, lengthwise.

    4. Place one half in the mould and place the other half on top with the cut side facing up so that the parts with ingredients alternate with the parts without ingredients. Cover with a cloth and leave to rise for 1 or 2 hours in a warm place until it reaches the edge of the mould.

    5. Carefully brush the top with the beaten egg. Bake in the oven, pre-heated to 180°C, for 45-50 minutes. If the top browns too much, cover with a sheet of baking paper. *For the sandwich bread 28 cm 50-55 cm

    6. Remove, turn out and leave to cool on a rack.
