200 g (7 oz) flour 200 g (7 oz) butter 200 g (7 oz) sugar 4 eggs cocoa powder s/g 1 teaspoon baking poder Pinch of salt For the decoration ( chose the desired option) One tablespoonful of chopped almonds Whole hazelnuts Chopped candied orange Chocol

Así puedes prepararlo

  • 1 Break the eggs into a bowl and beat them with the sugar for 1 minute. Add the melted butter (not too hot) and beat again. Finally add the flour and baking powder, and stir until you have a homogeneous, smooth batter.           

    You can make half of the batter white and the other half black, adding cocoa powder to one half of the batter.

    2 Pour into the mould cavities so that they all reach the same height.

    You can also add to the half in each cavity, before baking, one tablespoonful of chopped almonds, whole hazelnuts, chopped candied orange, chocolate chips, lemon, vanilla or almond essence, or grated orange or lemon zest.

    3. Place in a preheated oven at 180ºC (350ºF) for 30 minutes. Pierce one of the cakes with a stick to see if it is cooked inside. The stick must come out clean. Otherwise, bake for a few more minutes.

    4 De-mould the portions one by one and decorate them any way you like.

    You can also personalize the cakes once they are baked, by filling them with jam, cream, or chocolate and hazelnut cream.               

    Finally, decorate the surface with cream, jam, chocolate, seasonal fruits, compote or nuts.
